About Megan Hunter

I’m Megan — a Northern California photographer, wife to my high school sweetheart, and mama to three incredible little boys.

I’ve been capturing families since 2017, but storytelling has always been close to my heart.

My husband and I married in May of 2016 and have since lived what feels like a lifetime of adventures together — from moving across states to building a home and raising a family. After a difficult season with infertility early in our marriage, we feel incredibly blessed to now have our dream family: three beautiful sons who fill our home with love, laughter, and chaos in the best way.

Our firstborn arrived in August of 2020 and made me a mama — a role I cherish more than anything. He’s full of life, curiosity, and dirt (lots of dirt). Then, just two years later, we were surprised with the joyful addition of our second son, born in May 2022 — the wilder partner in crime to his wild big brother. And in March 2024, our third son completed our family in the most perfect way.

Though our journey into parenthood started with uncertainty, we now look at these three boys and feel nothing but overwhelming gratitude. They are the heartbeat behind everything I do. My husband and I were both born and raised in Northern California (Placerville) and settled in Auburn after living in a few amazing places — Artesia, New Mexico; Long Beach, and Yucaipa, California.

Each stop along the way brought new perspectives, friendships, and experiences I carry with me into my work.

Photography began as a creative outlet and quickly turned into something much bigger — a way to preserve the fleeting, emotional, real-life beauty of motherhood and family. It’s a gift to serve others while staying present with my own little ones during the day. For that, I’m endlessly thankful.

I currently serve the Northern California area, but love to travel throughout the state and beyond. It would be an honor to document your story and help you freeze time—just for a moment.
